Nurturing You from Within

Internal Pelvic Release Work

I offer intentional release work to support women in reclaiming their pelvic health, vitality, and inner strength. This holistic and transformative approach is designed to release tension, enhance softness, and promote space within the pelvis.

What is Internal Pelvic Release Work?

Internal pelvic release work is a technique that focuses on the soft tissues of the pelvic region, including the ligaments, fascia and muscles.

This practice is rooted in the understanding that the pelvic region holds physical, emotional, and energetic tension that impact overall health, movement, and well-being.

Tension can arise in many ways, including physical injuries and trauma, surgery, or postural patterns.

Tension doesn’t allow for space, movement and flow of the tissues, bony structures, blood and fascia. During a session, the areas of tensions are gently held and given time to release and create space and flow.

How Can Internal Pelvic Release Work Benefit You?

Pelvic release work offers a range of benefits that can enhance your physical and emotional well-being, particularly during and after pregnancy:

Relief from Pelvic Pain: If you experience pelvic pain, tension, or discomfort (such as SPD, lower back pain, or perineal pain), internal pelvic release work may provide relief and support healing.

Support for Pregnancy, Birth and Postpartum Recovery: During pregnancy, the pelvic region undergoes significant changes. Internal release work helps maintain balance and equilibrium, supporting your body’s natural processes and promoting optimal baby positioning. Postpartum, it aids in healing, restoring pelvic function, and addressing any scar tissue or trauma from birth.

Enhancement of Sexual Health and Function: Releasing tension and improving drainage in the pelvic area can also enhance sexual pleasure, improve intimacy, and increase body confidence. Releasing any tension, torsions or imbalances may also help any ‘drooping’ of the pelvic organs, often seen in prolapses.

Emotional and Energetic Healing: The sacrum and pelvis is an energetic and emotional centre. This work creates space for releasing held emotions or trauma, providing a pathway for holistic healing and self-discovery.

Is it right for you?

Whether you’re pregnant, postpartum, or experiencing pelvic discomfort, internal pelvic release work is for you. It’s suitable for those looking to relieve physical symptoms, heal after birth, or deepen their connection with their body.

I recommend an initial consultation to discuss your needs and explore how this work can best support your journey.

What to Expect During Your Session

This work is done via the stretchy back wall of the vagina. It involves intentional and precise pressure techniques, with the intention of allowing the tissues to release tension, to soften, for blood to flow and for drainage to occur.

My sessions draw upon two decades of experience as a Midwife working within the physiological birth space. My goal is to support women and birthing people to understand and work with the pelvic goods they have, and to empower them to achieve their best birth. The session includes external work, as well as some tools to use at home and in labour. I allow time for debriefing and education on your personal circumstances, leaving you feeling more empowered and confident in your body. This work is for anyone, not just for birth preparation!

I use a trauma-informed, compassionate approach, ensuring your safety, comfort, and privacy throughout each session. I believe in the power of this work to foster healing, empowerment, and a deeper connection to your inner strength.

Sessions will be between 1.5-2.5hrs long, and a minimum of 2+ sessions will be required to achieve the desired results. The time between sessions will depend on your individual circumstances. Payment can be made on the day with cash, direct bank deposit or EFTPOS. A minimum of 48 hours notice is required to cancel your appointment, otherwise you may be liable to pay part or all of your appointment fee.
